The Office of University Relations is comprised of two units: Economic development, and Business and Entrepreneurship. Economic Development provides a link to connect business and industry with the richness of UW talent, innovative spirit, and entrepreneurial energy in order to foster job growth and to build better communities. Business & Entrepreneurship helps entrepreneurs, businesses and economic development professionals throughout the state to achieve their goals by offering technical assistance and leveraging data. Position Summary: Major Responsibilities:
This position provides professional administrative assistance to the UW System Interim Vice President for University Relations, and will also support the UW System Talent Development Liaison. The responsibilities of the Executive Staff Assistant include administrative, coordinative, informational, and research support activities, as well as day-to-day office management and support.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
Experience supporting a senior level executive in a complex organization.
Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and emerging situations while maintaining professionalism and approachability.
Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple short-term and long-term deadlines.
Ability to work in a setting requiring a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational and critical thinking skills.
Ability to create professional documents, presentations, emails and communication memoranda.
Demonstrated ability to learn, embrace, and master other computer technology/software programs as needed.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive interaction and working relationships with a variety of people.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or knowledge of Wisconsin higher education and economic development ecosystems and processes.
Comprehension of fundamentals of purchasing, and travel and expense reporting.
Experience working in a diverse environment.
Willingness to work for the building of a UW System workplace environment that values diversity and inclusion.
